Updated 28 June 2020: Added console Demon Hunter build.
Please note: I've only made builds for the Crusader, Monk, and Demon Hunter for now. Let me know in the comments, if there is a particular class you are interested in getting added.

Introduction
Every now and then, the Season Journey may contain a conquest called Curses! (or Stars Align in hardcore), where you have to kill 350 or more monsters in a Cursed Chest event on Torment X or higher. If I find any good builds to complete this conquest without other players, I'll post them here in the future.
Console
If you're trying to complete the conquest on console, be aware that this is way more difficult than on PC due to the slower spawn rate of enemies. The builds below are intended for PC unless otherwise stated.
Cursed Chest events
As far as I know, there are 24 Cursed Chests events where you, in theory, should be able to complete the conquest. However, the number of enemies in these events vary greatly and most of them will never be able to spawn 350 monsters. To demonstrate this, I've made some runs in season 13 (patch 2.6.1) with a Monk using a not optimized Wave of Light build. With different classes or builds, the results might not match the table below.Location | Event | Enemies killed |
Act 5, Paths of the Drowned | The Cursed Peat | ~375 |
Act 1, Halls of Agony Level 3 | The Cursed Bellows | ~340 |
Act 2, The Unknown Depths | The Cursed Spire | ~305 |
Act 1, Damp Cellar (Old Tristram Road) | The Cursed Cellar | ~290 |
Act 5, Repository of Bones Level 2 (Westmarch Heights) | The Cursed Bone Pit | ~250 |
Act 2, The Storm Halls | The Cursed Pit | ~225 |
Act 4, The Silver Spire Level 2 | The Cursed Chapel | ~225 |
Act 1, Caverns of Araneae | The Cursed Hatchery | ~185 |
Act 5, Pandemonium Fortress Level 1 | The Cursed War Room | ~180 |
Act 2, Howling Plateau | The Cursed Outpost | ~180 |
Act 2, Temple of the Firstborn Level 1 | The Cursed Temple | ~180 |
Act 5, Westmarch Commons | The Cursed Forum | ~180 |
Act 1, The Secluded Grove (Fields of Misery) | The Cursed Grove | ~175 |
Act 3, Elder Sanctum | The Cursed Bailey | ~160 |
Act 4, Radiant Chapel (Gardens of Hope 3rd Tier) | The Cursed Pulpit | ~160 |
Act 2, Shrouded Moors | The Cursed Lake | ~150 |
Act 2, Shrouded Moors | The Cursed Moors | ~145 |
Act 3, Eternal Woods | The Cursed Eternal Woods | ~145 |
Act 5, Greyhollow Island | The Cursed Wood | ~145 |
Act 4, Unbending Fate: Nobles' Rest Courtyard | The Cursed Realm | ~140 |
Act 4, Fractured Fate: Battlefields of Eternity | The Cursed Realm | ~130 |
Act 4, Upper Infernal Fate: Arreat Crater | The Cursed Realm | ~130 |
Act 1, Cathedral Level 2 | The Cursed Court | ~130 |
Act 3, The Battlefields | The Cursed Garrison | ~115 |
The only events I've managed to complete solo are The Cursed Peat and The Cursed Bellows.
Builds
CrusaderPatch 2.6.4.55430
For the Crusader, I've had most success with a Hammer build, which is able to get 350+ monsters in both The Cursed Peat and The Cursed Bellows. I've been very close with The Cursed Cellar as well, but I can't get above 340 enemies in that one.
Skills | Gear | ||
Blessed Hammer | Rune: Limitless | Head: | Leoric's Crown |
Falling Sword | Rune: Rapid Descent | Shoulders: | Mountain of the Light |
Provoke | Rune: Charged Up | Wrists: | Lacuni Prowlers |
Steed Charge | Rune: Endurance | Hands: | Will of the Light |
Laws of Valor | Rune: Unstoppable Force | Torso: | Heart of the Light |
Akarat's Champion | Rune: Hasteful | Waist: | The Witching Hour |
Fervor | Passive | Legs: | Towers of the Light |
Long Arm of the Law | Passive | Feet: | Foundation of the Light |
Finery | Passive | Neck: | The Traveler's Pledge |
Blunt | Passive | Ring #1: | Ring of Royal Grandeur |
Gems | Ring #2: | The Compass Rose
Bane of the Trapped | Weapon: | Jace's Hammer of Vigilance
Gogok of Swiftness | Off-Hand: | Guard of Johanna
Zei's Stone of Vengeance | Kanai's Cube
Flawless Royal Diamond | (Head) | Weapon: | Johanna's Argument |
Flawless Royal Ruby | (Torso and legs) | Armor: | Gabriel's Vambraces |
Flawless Royal Emerald | (Weapon) | Jewelry: | Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac |
Focus on getting a high Attack Speed on items where it is possible. Your second priorities should be Cooldown Reduction and anything that improves your damage output (Strength, Critical Hit Chance/Damage, Blessed Hammer Damage Increase...). Don't worry too much about Resource Cost Reduction - with Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac and a decent Cooldown Reduction, you should be able to use Provoke to keep your Wrath up. Cast Laws of Valor and Akarat's Champion whenever they're off cooldown.
Steed Charge and Falling Sword are only used while looking for the events. You might consider using different gear or gems while looking, as you are extremely squishy with this build. I use Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac in the cube instead of Ring of Royal Grandeur as I had better stats on the latter. View the videos for details on all items and stats (same build is used in both videos).

Monk Patch 2.6.1
I've been very close to completing The Cursed Bellows with a Wave of Light build but I'm 10 enemies short. The Cursed Peat is relatively easy to do though.Skills | Gear
Mystic Ally | Rune: Air Ally | Head: | Tzo Krin's Gaze |
Epiphany | Rune: Insight | Shoulders: | Sunwuko's Balance |
Mantra of Retribution | Rune: Transgression | Wrists: | Lacuni Prowlers |
Dashing Strike | Rune: Way of the Falling Star | Hands: | Sunwuko's Paws |
Sweeping Wind | Rune: Inner Storm | Torso: | Sunwuko's Soul |
Wave of Light | Rune: Pillar of the Ancients | Waist: | The Witching Hour |
Exalted Soul | Passive | Legs: | Sunwuko's Leggings |
Chant of Resonance | Passive | Feet: | The Crudest Boots |
Seize the Initiative | Passive | Neck: | Sunwuko's Shines |
Beacon of Ytar | Passive | Ring #1: | Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac |
Gems | Ring #2: | Convention of Elements
Bane of the Trapped | Weapon: | Vengeful Wind
Gogok of Swiftness | Off-Hand: | Kyoshiro's Blade
Zei's Stone of Vengeance | Kanai's Cube
Flawless Royal Topaz | (Head) | Weapon: | Incense Torch of the Grand Temple |
Flawless Royal Emerald | (Torso and legs) | Armor: | Kyoshiro's Soul |
Flawless Royal Emerald | (Weapons) | Jewelry: | Ring of Royal Grandeur |
I've gone back and forth between the Wave of Light rune Explosive Light and Pillar of the Ancients. For The Cursed Peat event, I've had more success with Pillar of the Ancients.
Make sure your cooldown reduction and resource cost reduction are high enough to cast Wave of Light constantly through the event. Use Mystic Ally and Epiphany to keep up your Spirit. Sweeping Wind should be at full stacks before initiating the event. If you keep having resource problems, consider swapping the belt out for Leoric's Crown, Pride's Fall, or Cindercoat if you use the Explosive Light rune. Demon Hunter Nintendo Switch, Patch C2.6.9.68709
This build was made for the Switch version of the game but since the conquest is easier on PC than console, the build should also be viable for PC players.Skills | Gear
Preparation | Rune: Punishment | Head: | Pride's Fall |
Multishot | Rune: Arsenal | Shoulders: | Marauder's Spines |
Companion | Rune: Bat Companion | Wrists: | Lacuni Prowlers |
Sentry | Rune: Spitfire Turret | Hands: | Marauder's Gloves |
Vengeance | Rune: Seethe | Torso: | Marauder's Carapace |
Evasive Fire | Rune: Focus | Waist: | The Witching Hour |
Blood Vengeance | Passive | Legs: | Marauder's Encasement |
Steady Aim | Passive | Feet: | Marauder's Treads |
Ballistics | Passive | Neck: | The Traveler's Pledge |
Custom Engineering | Passive | Ring #1: | Ring of Royal Grandeur |
Gems | Ring #2: | The Compass Rose
Enforcer | Weapon: | Yang's Recurve
Gogok of Swiftness | Off-Hand: | Bombardier's Rucksack
Zei's Stone of Vengeance | Kanai's Cube
Flawless Royal Diamond | (Head) | Weapon: | Echoing Fury |
Flawless Royal Emerald | (Torso and legs) | Armor: | Leoric's Crown |
Flawless Royal Emerald | (Weapons) | Jewelry: | Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac |
Be very careful with where you place your turrets and where you decide to stand and shoot. Your turrets should be in one end of the event area while you stand in the opposite end. I've had most success with placing the turrets as close to the edge as possible.
Evasive Fire ended up not being necessary when I tested the build as I had enough resource cost reduction and cooldown reduction. It can be replaced with either Vault for quick positioning at the start of the event or something that helps you deal more damage. If you're able to keep firing Multishot without running out of resources, focus on Attack Speed first and then any attribute that will raise your damage output. Great info! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI'd be highly interested in an optimized demon hunter build. I'm running an UE Multishot build, but only get very close to the 350 at Cursed Peat.
ReplyDeleteDoing it on Nintendo Switch btw. Maybe that's the issue.
DeleteBuild added. Didn't make it in time for season 20 but the conquest will reappear in season 21.
Deleteim not entirely sure why people are having difficulty with this conquest but here is the trick. Monks :WoL Inna's Is preferred because of its massive resource regeneration. You probably could have done it on the build shown if you had, pinto's pride, considering that is the best in slot. Monks definitely CAN solo this, i have done it many times. Demon Hunters: UE/Crimson's hybrid build will DEMOLISH this conquest. Did the entire thing without a single ancient on t16. Necro, Just about any mages build that runs Leo's Crown and a diamond as well as a pestilence t16 build. I would suggest you find one with requiem cereplate if you use mages and dont use the singularity run if you dont have to. My best tip would be to definitely roll Monk or DH tho, because those builds are easy to attain and they clear it with ease
ReplyDeleteIt's easy on PC, but it's hard on Console. I have no problem getting 430+ kills on PC while on Switch, they spawn not as fast and im always a few short. I found out it's better doing it in handheld mode and reduce lag.
DeleteYou are more likely to get it on console by using spells with less effects and max. 2 players than with a full group of people that make the game lag more and have it spawn fewer enemies.
